“I stay around the way from the CTCT and I get produce from Feed the West every Thursday. I rely on their program to help sustain me. I’m a vegan on a fixed budget and reside in the middle of a food apartheid area where access to fresh produce is a near impossiblity. This program breaks down barriers for those of us in the West by being the sole agent that challenges the system of inaccess by retreiving the food and opening up their space for the community to partake.
